Eglinton & Laird Evening WorksWhat Work is Taking Place?

Beginning as early as late January 2017, crews will conduct geotechnical monitoring on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street to support construction of the Laird and Science Centre Stations.

Timing

Work will be undertaken as needed, beginning as early as late January 2017 for approximately six months. Work is expected to take place between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Please note that work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be taking data readings from instruments previously installed as part of geotechnical investigations to determine soil and water conditions along Eglinton Avenue East.
  • Temporary occasional lane closures are necessary between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street to complete this work.
  • The work is being performed at night to minimize impacts to traffic.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Traffic will be reduced to a single lane for both directions of traffic on Eglinton Avenue between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street for the duration of this work.
  • Eastbound and westbound traffic will alternately use the one lane. Flag persons will be onsite directing traffic during the hours of work.
  • Pedestrian and property access will be maintained.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites. Traffic delays are expected during construction.
